VFL | Mid-Year Review

As we pass the mid-year point of the season, I thought it would be a good opportunity to reach out to everyone, and firstly thank everyone for their support over the course of the year.

With record crowds filling Kinetic Stadium this year, we certainly feel the love and support from you all and can’t wait to see you all at our final four home games for the year.

Whilst we can look at the ladder as a metric of improvement, I like to look at the personal wins our playing group have had throughout the first twelve games of the season.

We saw Will Hamill, Corey Ellison and Tom Murphy selected for the VFL representative side that played the SANFL over the competition bye in April. The three boys represented themselves and the football club with immense pride.

We’ve seen Trent Mynott notch up 100 VFL games (across Essendon, Box Hill & Frankston), as well as Joe Lloyd, Seb Quirk, Nick Burke and Blake O’Leary hitting their 50th VFL games (with Blake O’Leary doing it in style against Coburg with his after the siren goal). Matt Johnson will also hit 50 VFL games this weekend against Port Melbourne.

These metrics show that our players continue to stick around and invest in what we are building, and we can’t wait to be celebrating for milestones as we progress this season and beyond.

As we turn for home in the season, we have identified some areas that we want to continually strengthen and grow, and look forward to seeing the continual improvement across the club, both on and off the field, in the final six home and away games for the year

We look forward to your support this weekend against Port Melbourne!
