Position: VFL Assistant Coach
Location: Kinetic Stadium
Reports to: VFL Senior Coach
The role of Assistant Coach is a significant role in the support of the Frankston Football Club program. The assistant coach will be required to coach a specific area and develop players under the direction of the VFL Senior Coach. The assistant coaching role is pivotal in support the creation of an enjoyable, connected and professional environment.
DAY IN THE LIFE
- Coaching duties on match day responsible for a specific line
- Attend and contribute to weekly training sessions
- Collaborate, devise and contribute to game plan strategy and overall direction of the football program
- Coding of match day vision for review
- Prepare and present line & individual reviews & previews for players
- Active member of match committee
- Provide support and coaching to players in line with individual development plans
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory
- Level 2 coaching accreditation or above
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and build relationships
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop young talent
Desirable
- Previous coaching experience in talent pathways / VFL or AFL programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of SportsCode & Hudl
- Understanding of the Mornington Peninsula football region

Position: VFL Development Coach
Location: Kinetic Stadium
Reports to: VFL Head of Development
The role of Development Coach is a significant role in the support of the Frankston Football Club program. The development coach will play a leading role in the development of the entire list, with specific attention to craft and individual development to ready listed players to perform at VFL level.
DAY IN THE LIFE
- Attend three trainings per week in pre-season (Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday), and then two sessions per week (Tuesday / Thursday) in season, as well as match days (varies from Friday evening, Saturday / Sunday afternoon / evenings).
- Work closely with the Head of Development in developing individual development plans for VFL listed players, and then driving improvement
- Assist in facilitating the Development Program, which targets the 1st-3rd year players in the VFL program
- Prioritising time with players on the track prior and following training to develop their craft / skills and game knowledge
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory
- Silver coaching accreditation
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and build relationships
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop young talent
Desirable
- Experience either coaching or playing within VFL / talent league programs
- Understanding of the Mornington Peninsula football region

Position: Head of Medical Services / Head Physiotherapist
Location: Kinetic Stadium
Reports to: General Manager – Football
Direct Reports: Rehab Physiotherapist, Sports Trainers & Doctor (external)
The Head of Medical Services is a key head of department role at the Frankston Football Club. The role, which primarily acts as the Head Physiotherapist, will lead the medical, physiotherapy and sports trainers department, and is pivotal in the leadership, direction and implementation of the department.
DAY IN THE LIFE
- Attend all trainings, games and department meetings as required
- Provide leadership, direction and best practice to ensure VFL listed players are receiving high level return to play processes
- Organise and lead the department with regards to diagnosis, treatment and management of injured players
- Oversee the return to play processes and protocols at the club for injured players in conjunction with the Rehab Coordinator
- Work closely with the High Performance Manager, Rehab Physiotherapist & Rehab Coordinator around injury management and return to play practice / processes
- Manage game day doctor support with club doctor
- Manage the roster of sports trainers to ensure there is adequate training and game day coverage
- Lead and organise the process of referring players for scans, doctor / surgical consults
- Communication with external doctors & surgeons regarding VFL listed players
- Manage stock levels of strapping tape and medical supplies, and work with GM – Football to make appropriate orders
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy and / or Masters of Sports Physiotherapy or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
- Current AHPRA registration as a physiotherapist
- Strong practical experience in injury diagnosis and management skills
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Experience designing and implementing rehabilitation programs
- Experience with the implementation and ongoing development of injury prevention strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable
- APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist
- Previous experience in talent pathways / VFL or AFL programs
- Experience using Lumin Sports to set gym / rehabilitation programs
- Experience interpreting GPS data to inform decisions on rehabilitation plans

Position: Rehabilitation Physiotherapist
Location: Kinetic Stadium
Reports to: Head of Medical Services
The Rehabilitation Physiotherapist will assist the medical and high-performance department in the provision of physiotherapy and medical services, as well as rehabilitation implementation and guidance for players returning from injury. They will also assist in support of sports trainers and other key training and match staff where able.
DAY IN THE LIFE
- Attend three trainings per week in pre-season (Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday), and then two sessions per week (Tuesday / Thursday) in season, as well as match days (varies from Friday evening, Saturday/Sunday afternoon/evenings).
- Work to design & implement rehabilitation plans for all injured players, with guidance from the Head Physiotherapist and High Performance Manager.
- Provide physiotherapy services during training and matches to ensure VFL listed players are receiving the highest level of care.
- Perform diagnosis and assessment of injuries during training and match-day alongside the Head Physiotherapist.
- Support and lead sports trainers in training and match-day processes as required
- Some interstate travel is required (overnight) pending the season fixture.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or graduate-level physiotherapy equivalent)
- Current AHPRA registration as a physiotherapist
- Strong practical experience in manual therapy, injury diagnosis and management and taping
- Experience designing and implementing rehabilitation programs in a sporting population
- Experience with the implementation of injury prevention strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable
- Previous experience in local sport, talent pathways or VFL programs
- APA Level 1 and / or 2 Sports Physiotherapy qualification
- Dry Needling qualification
- Experience using Lumin Sports to program and modify gym/rehabilitation programs
- Experience interpreting GPS data to inform decisions on rehabilitation plans
