On behalf of the Board, staff and players of the Frankston Football Club, our thoughts are with Leonie, Daniel and James in these incredibly difficult times.
Matt, the father of young Frankston Ruckman James unfortunately passed away today after suffering a major heart attack over the weekend.
Matt was a friend to many in the AFL industry and the Frankston Football Club. Matt had many strong relationships within the club and attended the club’s CEO club. Matt spent many afternoons standing on the “hill” watching James play at Frankston.
Matt played his football in South Australia with West-Torrens before crossing to Fitzroy in 1981, he became captain in 1985 and played 164 games for Fitzroy. Matt then became a well respected recruiter over the last two decades.
Our condolences are with James and the family in these incredibly tough times, our players will be wearing black armbands this weekend out of respect to Matt and to support James and the family.
