Selected side announced for Past Players & Officials game – Saturday 2nd March 1.00pm @ SkyBus Stadium.
After much anticipation, coach Brett Lovett has released his selected side for tomorrow’s bi-annual Past Players & Officials (PP&O) game, being played against Frankston Tigersharks Super Rules team at SkyBus Stadium. At last night’s pre-game press conference, Lovett said, ‘Gee it’s a strong side on paper. The only problem is I haven’t seen most of these guys in a while so I don’t know what shape they’ll be in. I’ve been thinking about the new 6-6-6 rule and I’m worried the fitness of our side will result in a few 2-4-12 set ups. The forecast is pretty hot so I hope all the training they’ve put in will pay off.’
Club games record holder Daniel Clarke was excited about the game when we caught up with him recently and said, ‘Should be a great day. I haven’t really told anyone, but I’m secretly hoping that the boys on the hill turn up with the bongos and maybe even squeeze out a ‘Nooorrrmmy’ chant. It’s been a while since I’ve heard that and I kind of miss it. Sometimes it pops back in my head during the day and I just sort of hum along to it…..Nooormy, Nooormy.’
We’d love to hear any feedback on the selected side and suggestions for the coach. Who will be the standouts on the day? Should anyone be moved to different positions? Who won’t register anything on the GPS?
The PP&O game starts at 1.00 pm as part of a bumper day of free activities at the club’s Community Family Day, kicking off with the senior team intra club at 11.00am.
