The Frankston Football Club is delighted to announce the staging of the second MPNFL/VFL double header of 2019, to be held at SkyBus Stadium on Sunday June 16th.
In a replay of the 2018 MPNFL Grand Final, Pines will take on Sorrento at 11.15am (reserves commencing at 9.00am) prior to the Frankston vs North Melbourne VFL game at 2.00pm. All proceeds from the day – gate receipts, food, function, outside and inside bars – will be evenly split between the two home clubs.
The 2018 MPNFL Grand Final saw a crowd of 8,500 witness what might have been the best local Grand Final held anywhere in recent history, with Pines prevailing by a solitary point with a kick after the siren from Aaron Ludewig. With tribunal drama in the week leading up to the game, and a fourth quarter streaker, the game had everything. Some of the images post game, both the agony and ecstasy, will live on for years to come.
Tickets for the joint Presidents lunch on that day are $50 and are expected to sell out quickly – see the link below for bookings. The lunch will start at 12.30pm and finish at 2.00pm, with the formalities scheduled to tie in with the half and three-quarter time breaks of the MPNFL game so that everyone can view the second half of the game from the comfort of the social rooms.
