Frankston Football Club is delighted to welcome Sam Alabakis, Category B rookie from St.Kilda FC to our football family as a nominated Frankston Dolphins VFL player for the 2019 season. Sam follows in the footsteps of Lewis Pierce, who in 2018 won the Dolphins Best and Fairest as an allocated Frankston player, culminating in his elevation to play the final 3 rounds in the AFL for St.Kilda and subsequently earning a contract extension.
Standing at 211cm, Sam has a basketball background, culminating in playing with the University of Colorado Boulder in the US, and will bring some much needed height to the ruck position. He has been working closely over the summer at St.Kilda with our 2018 coach Adam Skrobalak, providing yet another link between the two clubs.
Our club thanks the St.Kilda Football Club for their ongoing support as the regional AFL partner for the Mornington Peninsula and broader community, along with the AFL for supporting the development opportunity that this provides.
Sam had a quick message for the Dolphins players in the video below and will be seen at the club in coming weeks and on-field through the practice match series.
