The Frankston Dolphins are delighted to announce the re-signing of 2018 leadership group member Alex Harnett for next season. Whilst still only young, ‘Flex’ quickly became a spiritual leader of the Dolphins in 2018 with his work inside and his physicality around the ball. A few injuries slowed Alex down in the second half of the year
One of the more popular players on the Mornington Peninsula and with a strong social media following, a dedicated off-season and strong pre-Xmas training block have ensured it’s a new streamlined version of Alex that will present for the 2019 season.
Coach Danny Ryan said, ‘Flex has been a standout on the track so far in the first block of pre-season. Whilst he might not voice it externally, he’s got a steely determination to improve and to drive the standards to make the new Frankston a force on the field. I couldn’t have been more impressed with how he stripped some weight off in the off-season and then his running in the pre-Xmas training block has been really exciting to watch. We think it can add another dimension to his game, and with the influx of other contested ball midfielders into our side, he’ll be even better placed to impact around the ball.’
