BRAD SYKES JOINS DOLPHINS BOARD

It is with great pleasure that the Frankston Football Club announces the appointment of Brad Sykes to the Club Board in the role of Community Director.

Brad played for Frankston from 2012-15 and during that time he was training as a primary school teacher.  At school one day he noticed that many kids were staying indoors during their breaks and so he embarked on a campaign to get kids into the playground and onto the sports fields.  That initiative led to him to form ‘Syked For Sport’ with fellow dolphin Sam Fox and the two players started conducting football clinics at the Dolphins ground.  That business blossomed and today supports primary school and teenage boys and girls from across the peninsula to connect with football, fitness, health and personal development.  Brad also has a passion for wellbeing, mental health and helping people to ‘be the best version of themselves’ which has led him to play key roles with ‘Outside The Locker Room’, ‘Life Changer’, Brad Sykes Sports Consulting, Frankston & District Junior Football League and ‘Game Changer’.  He is currently playing football for Bonbeach in Division 1 of the MPNFL, which has been his local club since he began playing as an 8 year old in 1999.

“Brad has typified the support shown by many of our former players and officials over the last few years of the clubs re birth, we have loved seeing him at games and functions where he always voiced support for our renewed vision to be a hub of the peninsula” said club President Peter Geddes.  “In recent conversations between Vice President Michelle Graham and new CEO Adrian Lloyd it became obvious to all of us that Brad was the right person to lead our important Community portfolio.  I am absolutely rapt to have someone of this calibre on our team.  He is truly living our motto to ‘be part of it’.  On behalf of our 1100+ members I extend a warm welcome to Brad and ask everyone at the club to embrace his appointment – I know he will be swamped with his club mates and new club members coming up to say ‘G’day’ to him and I encourage everyone to get behind Brad and support our 2020 Community program initiatives which we will announce in the coming months.”

Brad Sykes “Thanks very much for this opportunity to be a part of a great period for Frankston FC. We have such a proud 133 year history and I will endeavour to play my role to the best of my ability. The Director of Community sits really well with me. I’m proudly Frankston.”
