2019 CAPTAIN & LEADERSHIP GROUP

The Frankston Football Club is delighted to announce a six-man leadership group for the 2019 season, with a new captain in Josh Newman

– Blake Mullane (Vice Captain)
– Corey Rich (Vice Captain)
– Will Fordham
– Aloysio Ferreira
– Nathan Freeman

Josh was the winner of the club Best and Fairest award in 2016, before moving to Williamstown in 2017 whilst the club was in recess from the VFL competition. In 2018 he travelled overseas and has returned with a burning passion for the football club and a clear vision of how he can help drive the club to future success. Many Dolphins supporters would remember Josh’s brother Nic, as a former Frankston player, and now a member of the Carlton AFL side.

Newman said, ‘It was really humbling to be voted captain by my peers, particular when you look at how strong the leadership group is. That was my initial reaction. I’m really excited for our whole group to step and be leaders this year.’

Blake was last year’s captain and his performance was excellent for a young group returning to the VFL. He continues to be an influential leader of the playing group.

Corey, Will and Aloysio retain their positions in the leadership group from last year. Nathan is another first year player at Frankston, bringing with him five years of AFL experience at Collingwood and most recently at St.Kilda.
