AFL and State Leagues Reports – Easter Round 2017.


  • The Easter Round kicked off on Thursday when the Swans took on the Weagles over in Perth.
  • Nic Newman held his own yet again 3rd Senior Match in a row with a 19 Disposals, 4 Marks, 2 Tackles performance ensuring all the Dolphins fraternity are still incredibly proud of him. Keep going Nic that win is just around the corner. GO BLOODS!!
  • Luke Beveridge coached the Bulldogs to a nail biting 3 point win over the shinboners, Matthew Boyd collecting 18 Disposals and nine marks.
  • Mark Baguley – Essendon 15 disposals 6 marks and 1 tackle rounding out the Dolphins at AFL Level this weekend just gone.
  • 4 Former Dolphins involved in the AFL Round.


  • Shane Hockey and the Sth Fremantle Bulldogs are both in fine form as the Bulldogs trounced Claremont 111 to 46
  • The Disposal King of West Oz, Shane racked up 23 disposals 4 Marks 6 Tackles and five inside 50’s
  • Subiaco had a resounding win over East Perth 135 to 44
  • Leigh Kitchin 22 Disposals 4 Marks 3 Tackles and 7 Inside 50’s is trying to knock Shane off the perch as the Inside 50 West Oz specialist lol
  • Lachlan Delahunty 11 Disposals 2 Marks 7 hitouts and 2 Inside 50’s
  • West Perth got the chocolates over Peel Thunder 108 – 73
  • Michael Lourey 15 Disposals 5 Marks 3 Tackles 1 hitout 3 inside 50’s
  • Scott Simpson 27 Disposals 5 Marks 3 Tackles 15 hitouts 5 Inside 50’s plus 1 goal would surely, stats wise, win him the Dolphin of the West award this round. Sorry Shane.

  • Southport – went down to Brisbane #28 Rob Clements representing the Dolphs – been told he’s a gun so those following the NEAFL keep your eyes out on him
  • Redlands – #35 Boyd Bailey named in the best players and going great guns despite the side going down to Sydney Uni
  • Canberra Demons – Defeated GWS Giants 95-79, Josh Bennett #2 kicked 3 Goals
  • 3 Dolphins in the NEAFL this weekend.


  • Women’s – Paddy Hills Box Hill Hawks women had a solid hitout and win in their preparation for the upcoming Women’s VFL Season.
  • Also great seeing Paddy and his son Cody at Frankston Park at the Karingal v Mornington game.
  • Coburg – Blake Mullane kicked 2 goals as Coburg narrowly went down to the Magpies by 2 points.
  • Williamstown – Ben Cavarra kicked a goal in their win over Casey
